Project Case
The building itself has a rectangular shape, but to create a playful effect, the design incorporates softer, rounded forms. The design of the building is layered, with a central social space serving as a place for lunch, informal meetings, and gatherings. Surrounding this core are social work areas, featuring spaces for meetings, flexible working, and even table tennis. The outermost layer houses traditional workspaces for focused work, with natural sound barriers providing a quiet environment. The base design of the building is white and harmonious, with the complementary use of vibrant colors such as yellow, green, and petrol giving the final result a modern and inspiring feel, perfectly suited to contemporary work styles.
The client wanted an inspiring work environment for employees and visitors, featuring modern, timeless, and humorous elements that reflect a company with a national impact. The design is characterized by contrasting colors and a variety of sightlines and shifting perspectives. The client allowed a great deal of freedom to experiment with color, and the Merkhuis, located in the heart of Breda’s creative center, certainly contributed to the bold and colorful design.
”For us, an office should be a warm place, where you feel the connection with each other everywhere, and where you all work together to exceed expectations.
